Jérôme Lagarrigue is French + American, his education + spirit roaming freely between two continents. He owes his artistic sensibility to his father, Jean Lagarrigue, whose work is a great influence.

Goñi Montes was born in Puerto Rico, where he lived + acquired a BA in Fine Arts. He also worked as a scientific illustrator there. To pursue a career in editorial work he moved to Atlanta, GA + obtained an MFA in illustration there. Currently Goñi freelances from Decatur, GA.

The work of Tatsuro Kiuchi was as an unexpected + pleasant discovery.

Half-French, half-Italian, Yan Nascimbene started working as an illustrator in France in 1986. His illustrations have appeared in numerous publications worldwide, including Time, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, the New Yorker + Boston Globe. His commercial clients include Air France, British Airways, IBM, Apple, Macy’s + Stanford University. He is currently based between the South of France + California.

Jacob Whibley is based in Toronto, Canada.

Nicolas Nadeau is a painter and freelance illustrator based in Austin, Texas.

Born in 1965, Joëlle Jolivet studied graphic art + advertising in Paris which eventually led her to engraving, printing + lino cutting which has remained her main mode of expression ever since.

BLACK: Masters of Black in Fashion & Costume open until 08|08|2010 at the MOMU Fashion Museum in Antwerp, illustrates the historic phases of the colour black, with examples from painting, historic costume and contemporary fashion. It also looks more deeply into the textures and the potentials of black in diverse materials, including fur, leather and lace. In addition, the exhibition includes masterpieces by contemporary designers who, like the city of Antwerp, have a special connection to black.

Garrett Pruter is an NY based artist + illustrator. He uses collage + drawing to piece together a not-so-distant world of fleeting memory, blurred consciousness, impossible space, + pixilated place.

A self-trained illustrator, Yamamoto’s artistic tastes expanded as he fell in love with the urban culture of the West coast. Yamamoto nostalgically blends pop iconic characters from his new Western home with traditional and mythical Japanese elements, balancing his Asian heritage with urban pop art.

Andrea Forgacs is a freelance illustrator + grahic designer based in Berlin but currently living in London.

Based in Malta and Rome, Sean Gabriel Ellul works in acrylic paint on canvas + paper. his work has focused on the human face + body utilising various streams of media and iconography such as street art, video stills, fashion photography + classical sculpture to portray a whole gamut of human emotions or lack thereof. Sean will be participating in the upcoming Spaces|Spazji exhibition.
