BLACK: Masters of Black in Fashion & Costume open until 08|08|2010 at the MOMU Fashion Museum in Antwerp, illustrates the historic phases of the colour black, with examples from painting, historic costume and contemporary fashion. It also looks more deeply into the textures and the potentials of black in diverse materials, including fur, leather and lace. In addition, the exhibition includes masterpieces by contemporary designers who, like the city of Antwerp, have a special connection to black.

Bold, experimental and inventive, Ron Arad defies categorisation. This internationally acclaimed London-based maverick is variously described as a designer, architect and artist. Ron Arad: Restlessis the first major survey exhibition of Arad’s work in the UK.

Spanning three decades, the show traces the development of Arad’s designs from his early post-punk approach, assembling works from readymade parts to his technologically-advanced sculptural objects made of highly polished metals.

Daniel Arsham | Animal Architecture

Arsham’s new series of Gouache on Mylar drawings are inspired by the etchings of Gustave Doré and Albrecht Dürer, among others, with Arsham rehashing old images into new stories.

Two new cube sculptures that carry Arsham’s erosion works onto autonomous forms separate from the architecture will also be presented.
